Children's Beach House auction set
The Children’s Beach House Annual Holiday Art Show committee is busy wrapping up details for its popular holiday event scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, thru Sunday, Dec. 6. The funds raised during the event will be divided among the many programs offered by the Children’s Beach House where the mission is to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities.
“While planning started months ago, the committee went full force in September,” said Kathleen Schell, trustee and committee chairwoman of the Annual Holiday Art Show and Auction. “We have an immensely talented group of artists and volunteers with great passion for this event and I’m happy to be a part of it again this year. With the team’s coordination and efforts, we hope this year’s art show and auction will be one of the most enjoyable and successful fundraisers yet.”
The Children’s Beach House has reached 100 percent of its goal for artist participation and will be featuring the works of over 100 artists. The participating artists will display a mix of photography, painting, pottery, sculpture and more. This will also be the fourth year the Children’s Beach House has chosen a featured artist for the event. Steve Rogers of Lewes was named this year’s featured artist. He will be auctioning an original painting titled “Beach House” and will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds for this sealed bid auction back to the Children’s Beach House.
The event will include an exclusive opening reception from 6 to 10 p.m., Dec. 4. The guests at the opening reception will be able to enjoy a live pianist, an artist meet and greet, a sneak preview of all fine art collections and a chance to purchase raffle tickets for gift baskets valued between $500 and $2,500 each. Guests will also enjoy catering by Nage of Rehoboth, wine courtesy of Teller Wines and Specialty Wines, and brews courtesy of Dogfish Head Brewery. Tickets for the opening reception can be purchased in advance or at the door for $60 per person. The art show will continue with free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 5, and noon to 3 p.m., Dec. 6.
