Unique Boutiques to host food drive Dec. 15 to benefit Food 4 Friends
Unique Boutiques, just north of Five Points near Lewes, will hold a food drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, for local food bank Food 4 Friends Inc.
Unique Boutiques is a large complex with 30 local artisans offering handmade items ideal for holiday gifts, as well as services such as an alteration shop, laser engraving shop and pet shop. Many of the individual boutiques will be offering a 10 percent discount for this special day. Shoppers can purchase decorative items, beach-oriented items, clothing and jewelry, handmade jams, ornaments and antiques, pet supplies, ceramics, original art and used books all under one roof.
Santa Claus will be present, so bring the little ones and a camera to show them the meaning of giving help during the holidays and let them have their picture taken with Santa.
Louie’s Backyard BBQ will be on site offering a full menu including brisket and other BBQ sandwiches and will donate all tips to the food bank as well.
Food 4 Friends is a nonprofit food bank which provides for patients at a local health clinic program who are dealing with life-challenging illness such as cancer, HIV and AIDS.
One hundred percent of all financial contributions purchases food.

Those who cannot make the event, but wish to assist the food bank, may make a donation on the website using a credit or debit card or can help by purchasing and mailing a gift card for Dollar Tree Brand stores. All details including the charity’s regular local drop-off location, mailing address, etc. are also available online.
Food 4 Friends Inc. provides a weekly food bank, clothing bank and book exchange all through the year. For this event, the charity is accepting food items or used books but has currently has an abundance of clothing. Food 4 Friends provides nutritional food, toiletries, household and cleaning supplies, and other items such as fresh produce and canned items each week.
