Rose Marie Dixon, retired housekeeper

Rose Marie Dixon, 50, of Laurel, passed away in the care of her family at home Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.

She was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Lewes, to the late James and Gladys Rayne Dixon. She was a retired professional housekeeper. She loved reading, crocheting, and possessed a very good personality. She knew how to hold her own, could be outspoken, but was loved and a dedicated part of her family.

She is survived by her three children: Karmekus Dixon of Millsboro, Tacara Dixon of Laure; and MyKeisha Dixon, also of Laurel. She is also survived by her siblings: Frances, Patricia, Janice, Gladys, Vanessa, Charleen, Ida, Herbert and James. In addition: aunts Linda and Wanda; Uncle Harold Tingle; and two grandchildren: Shamiyah and Zyshon. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends: Lisa, Carleen, Samuel, Caro; and Valerie; and many, many other friends.

A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at noon, Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. John’s 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior for visitation and viewing. Services will be officiated by Pastor Lisa Johnson. Interment follows at Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery, Bishopville, Md. Floral tributes are welcomed by the family.
