Sussex Tech JROTC drill team wins state championship

The Sussex Tech Raven Battalion JROTC won the Delaware State Championship in Unarmed Exhibition Drill competition at the Eagle Classic April 20 at the Dover Air Force Base. Eight Delaware schools competed in six drill categories - Inspection, Color Guard, Unarmed Regulation, Armed Regulation, Unarmed Exhibition and Armed Exhibition. The Raven Battalion also placed third in the Armed Exhibition Drills.
Led by Cadet Lt. Col. Kaycee Bean, the Unarmed Exhibition cadets went through a series of choreographed steps and turns in precision movement. Members of the championship team are cadets Emma Rider, Branagh James, Alex Hassman, Joseph Hartman, Colin Hearn, Robert Christensen, Samantha Hawkins and Spencer Turner.
