Safe Haven thanks Cause for Paws supporters

June 15, 2013

The Safe Haven Board of Directors wants to thank everyone who attended our annual Cause 4 Paws Spring Fling fundraiser May 31. The event raised more than $40,000 to help us operate our no-kill shelter in Sussex County. We were very gratified by this show of community support.

We especially want to thank our generous sponsors who underwrote the costs of the event. That means that every dollar of ticket sales and all of the proceeds from our live and silent auctions will go to help the animals in our care. Space limitations prevent naming all of the sponsors here, so please visit www.safehavende.org for a complete list.

Safe Haven’s first year of operation has proven to be a greater challenge than we anticipated.  Food and medical care costs are a major portion of our annual budget and the need is great.  As significant as the money we raised through Cause 4 Paws is, it is only a tiny fraction of the amount we need to operate the shelter on an annual basis.

Please consider becoming a sustaining donor to Safe Haven. The stability of having regular donations will help us run our operations more efficiently and plan better for the future. On our website you will find numerous ways in which you can make a contribution, including volunteering.

Our first year has also been a very rewarding one as we look at the number of animals whose lives we have saved and for whom we have found new, loving homes.  Please help us continue this important work. Once again, thanks to everyone who helped to make our Cause 4 Paws event a huge success!
