Allan Anthony Cunha, experienced truck driver

Allan Anthony Cunha, 51, of Newark, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He was born April 6, 1962, in Elizabeth, N.J. to Louis Cunha and the late Eileen (Capone) Cunha.

A professional truck driver with CDL and hazardous materials licenses, Allan worked for Linde, and recently received an award for safely driving over two million miles without a preventable accident.

He loved fishing, cooking out on the grill and spending time with his kids and grandkids. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, and in his spare time worked on cars and listening to music, especially alternative rock.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judee Cunha of Newark; son, Craig Cunha of Elkton, Md.; daughters, Kara and Patricia Cunha of Elkton; his father and his wife, Ruth Cunha of Cranford, N.J.; brothers, Gary Cunha of Gap, Pa. and Ronald Cunha of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepchildren J'Aime Walker of Townsend, Matthew Walker of Prime Hook, Jillian Walker of Lewes and Donald Walker of Newark; stepsiblings, Guy Pestrichella of Sayreville, N.J., Alison Sherman of Hackensack, N.J. and Jill Gallery of Fords, N.J.; and grandchildren, Erik, Kallista, Jayden and Maddox (Anthony). He is also survived by his cat, Scareddy.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, where friends and family may call one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Cherry Hill Cemetery. Allan had a fond love of animals, and the family suggests contributions can made in his honor to ASPCA c/o the funeral home.
