Lovely Nails opens in Rehoboth Food Lion shopping center

Opening the doors of a new nail salon in September, the husband-and-wife owners of Lovely Nails said they have been happily surprised by the turnout at their nail salon and are looking forward to building their business during the quiet winter months.

"So far, so good," owner Vinny Truong said. "We are picking up more than we expected."

Currently, Lovely Nails is operated by Truong and his wife, Nikki Pham, but the owner said they would soon be looking to add more staff as they continue to grow a local clientele.

"They come, they try, they like it, and they come back," Truong said of his new clients at the salon.

New client Mary Christmen stopped in recently for a pedicure and said she enjoyed the experience at Lovely Nails.

"This is my first time and I think it's great," Christmen said. "I'm very happy and my feet look great now."

Offering a variety of manicures, spa pedicures and waxing, Truong said he's been able to build friendly relationships with many of his clients over the years. The salon is stocked with the latest nail technologies and the owners are always on-hand with a friendly welcome.

At Lovely Nails, Truong said he takes care to buy the best polishes, color, massaging chairs and nail stations with ultraviolet lamps for fast and convenient nail drying.

While his new business offers many services of interest to women, Truong said men actually make up a good portion of his clientele, officially putting the "man" in manicure.

"We do a lot of men here; they just don't get color," he said. "Nails for Males is a topcoat we have that is not shiny."

With both owners previously working at other salons in the area, Truong said he's enjoying many familiar faces at the new business and is looking forward to attracting even more new clientele as well.

"They come here because we are professional in the nail service," he said. "We are always talking and laughing, and now we have a really good location with lots of parking!"
