Aging in Place Forum to take place Jan. 23 in Lewes

An Aging in Place Forum will be held from 5:15 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, (snow date Jan. 30) at Cape Henlopen High School. Since the event is free, registration is not required. Organizers expect a large turnout and suggest attendees arrive early.

The event will offer information about programs that exist or are planned to help keep people in their homes longer. The event is cosponsored by the Parkinson Education and Support Group of Sussex County, the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Beebe Healthcare, St. Francis Hospital’s LIFE Program, Greater Lewes Community Village, Griswold Home Care, Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association, Sussex County Advisory Council on Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities and the Gazette.

The moderator is Jeffrey Fried, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare. Speakers include opening speaker, Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Secretary Rita Landgraf ; Joan Thomas, special assistant to the president, Beebe Healhcare; Amy Milligan, St. Francis Hospital’s ACE Program; Maryanne Murray, owner, Griswold Home Care; Carol Wzorek, co-president, Greater Lewes Community Village; Lynn C. Jones, FACHE, president and CEO, Christiana Care Visiting Nurses Association and senior vice president, Christiana Care Post-Acute Services.
