Soulmates Seminar April 5-6 aims for healthy lesbian relationships

February 27, 2014

An educational and social event for single lesbians will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, at the Metropolitan Community Church at 19369 Plantation Road in Rehoboth Beach. The two-day Soulmates Seminar will provide cutting-edge information, opportunities for discussion, and even a fun version of speed dating.

Dr Claudia Contessini of LifeMasteryforLesbians.com, an organization that offers research-based personal development programs, is hosting the event, which is designed to help lesbians find happy, healthy, and successful lasting relationships.

The Soulmates Seminar is a program that combines scientific research and emerging insights with proven techniques for assessing potential relationship compatibility in an informal, relaxed and friendly environment. Participants learn to avoid past mistakes in partner choice and learn new approaches that can totally transform their lives.

“I want to help you prepare for, find, and date the love of your life,” says Contessini, who is a life and relationship coach in the lesbian and gay as well as mainstream community, researcher, and clinical sexologist with a PhD in human sexuality. “This event is a great opportunity for you to really examine your needs and learn how to find a truly compatible partner.”

Women who attend the event will learn how to improve their dating success and use the dating process to assess potential for compatibility and happiness. Topics to be covered include compatibility and chemistry, the importance of dating, the stages of dating, finding potentially compatible women to date, and sexual compatibility. Participants will create their own potentially compatible partner profile, and there will be plenty of opportunities for mingling.

“Mixing will be easy,” says Contessini, “even if you’re shy or your social skills are a bit rusty, and the whole event will be relaxed, friendly, and a lot of fun.” Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in a modified form of speed dating designed to help them use newly learned skills in a dating or pre-dating situation, as well as help them meet new people and get to know each other.

Contessini, who recently moved to Rehoboth from Australia, has been working as a relationship and lovemaking coach in the international lesbian community for more than three decades. She helps people understand the dynamics of attraction and the pressures of dating, and teaches them how to avoid common pitfalls such as committing to an incompatible partner, ignoring red flags, and falling into a passionless partnership.

“Many single lesbians find themselves trapped in a cycle of short-term relationships, heartbreak, and upheaval,” she says. “This program provides keys to understanding and reversing these patterns, and helps women find strong, lasting relationships.”

Registration for the Soulmates Seminar is normally $350 or more, but it is offered for just $60 this time so everyone who could benefit can attend. The event is expected to fill quickly, and preregistration is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.

An optional Conversation Evening will provide a way for seminar participants to connect in a casual way through small- and large-group discussions, one-on-one mingling, and a modified form of speed dating. This bonus social activity is a fundraiser for Josie’s Place, a cat rescue facility in Delaware. Entry is by donation at the door, and the event is open to seminar attendees only.

The Soulmates Seminar will take place from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Saturday, April 5, and 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 6.  More information and secure online registration available at www.LifeMasteryforLesbians.com/Events.
