Lisa L. Lawson, enjoyed shopping

Lisa Lynn Lawson, 37, of Dover passed away at home after a long battle with cancer. Lisa was born May 4, 1976, in Fairfax, Va., to James Scott Lawson and Lois Currie.

She was an LPN and worked as a home care nurse before working at Dr. Nashlead's office. Lisa went to school in Lewes to be a physical therapy assistant. Lisa spent several years with her grandfather, James B. Lawson, as his full-time caregiver in the last few years of his life, just before he passed and just before she was diagnosed with cancer. She enjoyed shopping, the beach and spending time with her Aunt Iva, her daughter and her daughter's friends.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Lois Currie and her husband Matt of Dover; father, Scott Lawson of Clarksville, Va.; daughter, Cassie Sammon of Dover; special aunt and main caregiver during her battle, Iva Soja of Hartly; brother, Jamie Lawson and Kevin Eiiliot of Wilmington, N.C.; friends, Mark Sammon of Dover, Norma Darrah of Hartly; grandfather, Edward Cline; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
