The Cape Henlopen girls' soccer squad took 7 minutes and 13 seconds in overtime to score a 2-1 victory over Polytech April 30 in the driving rain at Champions Stadium.
Shelby Thomas fed Cassandra Garcia at 77:01 to tie the game at 1-1 after the Panthers had taken a 1-0 lead at 68:25 in the second half. Maddie Smith assisted striker Thomas at 87:13 for the game-winner.
Cape took eight shots to the Panthers' five in the game. The Panthers had the advantage in penalty corners 7-2.
Cape goalkeeper Oliva Baratto stopped four Panthers scoring attempts while Panthers goalie Marisa Francois stopped six Vikings shots.
