Atlantic U13 boys beat Beach 6-4 for ESYLA Championship

May 22, 2014

The sun was dropping into the western sky and the lights were up at Champions Stadium.

The placed was crowded and rocking for the championship of the U13 boys' Eastern Shore Youth Lacrosse Association Championship held May 21.

The Atlantic team, coached by Mariner Principal Fred Best, got a first-half two- goal lead and made it stand up to win the game 6-4.

'It was great for the kids on both teams to play in front of all these people," Best said after the game. "And it was just a great game. These kids have gotten so good through hard work, plus they just love playing the game."

No rosters and no announcer made it difficult to identify players inside helmets.
