Oh Boy! to perform free show July 24 at Lewes Canalfront Park

July 18, 2014

Concerts by the Canal continue as area favorite band Oh Boy! will bring their fun, high-energy performance to Lewes Canalfront Park, 211 Front St. in historic Lewes at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 24. This family-friendly event is free. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and even a picnic supper to enjoy a summer evening in a beautiful setting. This event is free thanks to the support of Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.

Oh Boy! features Walt Hetfield with band mates Barry Eli, Ken Schleifer and Mike Long. Oh Boy! revisits the genre of West Texas rockabilly along with the original style that came out of Sun Studios in Memphis. The group performs the music of artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. “We keep the groove going so people can dance,” says Hetfield. “People forget that rockabilly was the dance music of its time. We get pretty cool dancers at our outdoor shows, so come and dance with us on Thursday, July 24 in Lewes Canalfront Park!”
