ORANGE IS THE NEW PINK

Pink ribbons—pink luncheons, pink teas, pink walk-a-thons, even pink car shows—are tying a pink bow around the month of October to remind us this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  But not everyone is thinking pink.  The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM.ORG) is thinking ORANGE.

Did you know that filling your plate with orange foods—like sweet potatoes, butternut squash and mango—can help prevent breast cancer?  PCRM’s Cancer Survivor’s Guide shows what researchers have proven:  food choices can help prevent cancer and when cancer has been diagnosed, good nutrition can improve survival.  They demonstrate how foods containing beta-carotene (orange foods) fight cancer and they explain the advantages of a high fiber, low-fat, dairy- and meat-free diet.

So TAKE THE ORANGE PLEDGE and join The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in promoting breast cancer prevention by making ORANGE the NEW PINK!
