Elmer M. Cox, World War II veteran

Elmer M. Cox, 86, of Ocean View, formerly of Trainer, Pa., passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at his son’s home in Ocean View.

Elmer was born in Chester, Pa., son of the late Martin and Caroline (Helpa) Cox.

Elmer served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mason; a contractor; proprietor of Cox Construction and Trainer Swim Club in Trainer; land developer and owner of Bayshore Inc. in Ocean View.

He is survived by his son, Brett Cox; daughter, Elaine Carey; five grandchildren, Robert, Taylor, Leah, LaRee and Riki; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Gracie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road in Ocean View, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 17, at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa.
