Julia Richard, known as 'The Boss'

Julia Richard, 91, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at her residence. She was born Thursday, Feb. 8, 1923, in Chester, Pa., daughter of the late Guiseppe and Melfine Maria (Asunta) Sciarra.

Mrs. Richard was a dedicated wife and mother and loved being a full-time homemaker. Her baking skills could rival any local bakery and her "goodies" will be missed by many. Those close to her will remember "The "Boss" for her sweet spirit and gentle caring for others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Richards was preceded in death her husband, Albert Richard; and her daughter, Patricia Walls. She is survived by her four daughters, Linda D'Ortone and her husband Raymond of Bethany Beach, Michelle Reed and her husband Glen of Upper Chichester, Pa., Geraldine Mattero and her husband Charles of Boothwyn, Pa., and Sharon Lawson and her husband Carl of Bear; 12 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Fries of Boothwyn.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Richard's to Harbour Lights CHEER Senior Center, 34211 Woodsedge Dr., Lewes, DE 19958.
