David H. Anderson, Rehoboth employee
David Harry Anderson, 66, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness.
Dave was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Moundsville, W.Va. to the late Richard W. Anderson Sr. and Betty Lou (Hartley) Anderson.
Dave served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a correctional officer at the old West Virginia Penitentiary and the Northern Regional Jail for many years before moving to Delaware. At the time of his death, he was employed with the City of Rehoboth. He also helped Mary on the weekends sell her odds and ends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
Dave is survived by his loving and caring significant other of 15 years and the love of his life Mary Pulley; his siblings Rick Anderson (Trecy), Cindy White (Raymond ), and Laurie Wolfe (Chuck); Mary’s children that he thought of as his own, Carrie Burger, Fred Burger (Tracie), Todd Burger (Kristine), and John Pulley (Jennifer); 13 grandchildren that he adored as much if not more then they adored him; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends; and his furry little friend Minnie.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment with military honors will follow at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro. A reception will follow at the Stonewater Creek Club House, 24825 Shoreline Drive, Millsboro.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Beebe Healthcare, Christiana Hospital, and Vitas for taking great care of Dave. A special thank you to Brenda Yaeger and Bill Friend for their bedside care.
