Richard P. Hill, retired carpenter
Richard P. Hill passed away at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewes, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015.
He was born in Redden, the son of the late Robert Clark and Anna Parker (Bennett) Hill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War ll.
After the war he went to work as a carpenter for E.Nutter and Co. in Wilmington. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 626 in New Castle and a member of the American Legion Post 28 of Oak Orchard. Mr. Hill loved working, dancing, golfing, fishing and boating.
He is survived by his wife Marina; one daughter Victoria McDowell; one son Richard Hill II and his wife Marcia; two stepdaughters, Sharon Cash and Patricia King; one stepson Paul Taggart; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister Rachel Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
