Dr. Raid Kofahi earns board certification
Dr. Raid Kofahi, a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disease, recently earned his board certification in sleep medicine. Kofahi joined CNMRI in 2005, and he practices in the Milford office. Kofahi works closely with Dr. John Coll and registered sleep technologists at the CNMRI Sleep Disorders Centers.
CNMRI Sleep Disorders Centers are the only sleep laboratories in central Delaware that are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. They have state-of-the-art facilities in Dover and Milford. In addition to the sleep laboratories, CNMRI features a specialty clinic to aid in continuous positive airway pressure compliance and will be hosting a workshop for patients with intractable insomnia in the spring.
Sleep studies are indicated in the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea, an underdiagnosed condition that has adverse effects on health, job performance and daytime activities. Other sleep disorders, including narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome, are also managed at CNMRI. CNMRI assists Delaware Technical & Community College in its sleep technologist certificate program.
