World Tai Chi and Qigong Day set for April 25 in Lewes

Silver Lotus Training Institute invites the public to attend World Tai Chi and Qigong Day from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 25, at the Lewes Senior Center. This is a free outdoor event open to all. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

World Tai Chi and Qigong Day is a global event for the purpose of educating the public to the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong.

This event has officially been recognized by the United Nations World Health Organization as well as national bodies of various countries including Brazil, Croatia and Bonaire. In the United States, governors of 25 states and mayors in 26 cities have declared official proclamations in support of WTCQGD.

In addition, over 60 countries participate in this healing event which begins at 10 a.m. in New Zealand and continues over the globe in each time zone throughout the day, coming to its conclusion in Hawaii almost 24 hours later.

People with all levels of experience as well as those with no experience are welcome. There will be opportunities to observe, to demonstrate and to follow a variety of forms including Yang, Sun and Chen styles of Tai Chi, Shibashi Qigong, Yang Sword form and a Fan form. This is an event of welcome, friendship, health and peace.
