Local weight-loss coach honored for commitment to fitness industry
Lesslee Belmore, a certified trainer and weight loss coach from Milton, was honored by the International Sports Sciences Association for her outstanding commitment to the fitness industry.
She was among two coaches from a pool of more than 200,000 professionals to receive this honor. Belmore, 58, a certified trainer and specialist in lifestyle change and healthy weight loss for adults age 40-plus, also was featured in ISSA ads that appeared in a variety of national health and fitness magazines.
“Lesslee's personal story of self-revival and renewal through education - and then to empower and improve the lives and well-being of women in her sphere of influence - set her apart,” said Patrick Gamboa, ISSA president.
ISSA's personal trainer education approach is backed by top fitness industry professionals throughout North America. The International Sports Sciences Association's Personal Trainer Certification advisors and authors are some of the most prestigious and respected names in the fitness industry.
Though not a nutritionist or dietician, Belmore holds several certifications in health and fitness. She has combined her personal experience and education to help others achieve personal fitness, and find and maintain their ideal weight without going on another diet.
Her fitness journey started more than 10 years ago when a wellness coach in her own life helped her transform her ailing body into a healthy one by making better nutritional choices. Later, when a trainer taught her to lift weights, she was sold on staying fit and healthy, and helping others do the same.
“This absolutely changed the course of my life; I decided to go back to school midlife so that I could help others, especially women over 45, find their personal power through permanent lifestyle changes, healthy eating and effective exercise,” Belmore said.
