A Window on Life After Death program set July 30 in Lewes

July 23, 2015

Nationally known speaker Jayne Smith will present A Window on Life After Death at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at the Summer Spirituality Series at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.

In her quest to help people overcome their fear of death so they can focus on living a life of love, Smith has shared her near-death experience for many years and in many venues. Recently, her story was told in a new book, “Glimpsing Heaven: The Stories and Science of Life After Death,” by Judy Bachrach.

Smith’s own deep near-death experience has been recounted by Dr. Kenneth Ring in “Heading Toward Omega: In Search of the Meaning of the Near Death Experience,” and “Otherworld Journeys,” by Carol Zaleski. She has been a guest on radio and television, including "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Dr.Oz" and "The Charlie Rose Show."  She is a longtime member of the International Association for Near Death Studies.

Smith’s educational pursuits include: Life, Death and Transition Workshop with Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Therapeutic Touch with Drs. Janet Macrae and Dolores Krieger, Guided Imagery and Music (Professional Level II) with the Institute for Music and Imagery, and Reiki Training with John Harvey Gray (first degree) and Ethel Lombardi (second degree.)

The Summer Spirituality Series takes place at 7 p.m., every Thursday until Labor Day, in the parish hall of St. Peter’s at 211 Mulberry St. in Lewes. All presentations are free, although donations are gratefully accepted. As in the past, fellowship and ice cream cones will follow the presentations.
