Mary C. Miller, U of D advisor

Mary C. Miller, 68, of Milton passed away at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She was the daughter of the late William “Boots” and Mary (Cumiskey) Miller, born in Cumberland, Md., April 10, 1947.

Mary graduated from Catholic Girls Central in Cumberland, and the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Md. She received a masters in education from Loyola College in Maryland and a second masters in rehabilitation counseling from University of Oregon. She was an academic advisor at the University of Delaware, Georgetown Campus for 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller; a godson, Thomas Larson; a brother, Greg Miller; and two nieces.

Ms. Miller is survived by two goddaughters, Laura Larson and Alyssa I. Houghtling; seven siblings, Patricia Wigger (husband Tom), Theresa Fuller (husband Harry), Nancy Richard, Marilyn Kisner (husband Daniel), John Miller, William Miller (wife Dorothy) and Norm Miller.

An informal time of visitation and celebration of Mary’s life will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, from 2 until 5 p.m. at Irish Eyes, 105 Union St., Milton.
