Blessing of the bay held at Lewes Beach

Members of St. Jude The Apostle and St. Peter's Episcopal churches gathered at Lewes Public Beach Aug. 16 for the 10th Annual Blessing of the Bay. The event offers blessings for all those who earn their living, travel or recreate on the water.

Father Thomas Flowers, pastor of St. Jude's, presided and was assisted by the Rev. Perren Hayes of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Shown is Chief Micheal Lake with the United States Coast Guard Station in Lewes, placing a memorial wreath in honor of those in the Coast Guard and the Navy who lost their lives on the water.
