Erales thank Cape, Lewes community

August 28, 2015

The family of Maj. Angela M. Erale, U.S. Army, would sincerely like to thank the Cape Henlopen High School English Department, JROTC and American Legion Post 17 in Lewes for all the effort and outpouring of support on July 25 for two major fundraising events for an annual educational scholarship created in Angela’s memory.

Because of the hard work and dedication of so many who worked tirelessly for months, both events raised a considerable amount of money. The proceeds ensure that a deserving Cape JROTC female cadet, exemplifying the leadership our daughter represented, will benefit from the scholarship each year.

Since our daughter tragically died in an accident Feb. 14 of this year, we have felt the constant love and support of the entire Lewes community. The memorial scholarship - from its inception to the ongoing support - is a genuine example of how Cape Henlopen High School, the population of Lewes, local veterans organizations and the surrounding communities support one another.

Please accept our gratitude for those who worked and those who supported us by their patronage. You have made a family in grief realize some good out of such a profound loss.
