Thomas E. Toy, Lewes construction worker
Mr. Thomas E. Toy, 54, of Millsboro, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.
Tommy was born in Alexandria, Va. to the late William R. and Rebecca J. Jenness Toy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan R. Toy; and a stepdaughter, Jacklyn Berner.
He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Teresa Berner of Millsboro; siblings: Sharon J. Toy of California, Kenneth (Bo) J. Toy and sister-in-law Wendy of Alabama; and his best friend Moose Clay of Long Neck; children: Thomas E. Couch and daughter-in-law Meaghan; stepchildren: Eric Idnurm, Kristi Idnurm and Walter Berner; five grandchildren: Taylor, Tucker, Lexi, Aaron and Jazmine; as well as a very large group of extended family and friends.
Tommy worked in construction in Lewes for most of his life. He especially loved working on cars, the 57 Chevy being his favorite. Tommy was a great cook, enjoyed shooting pool, playing horseshoes, riding his Harley and just having fun and spending time with his family and friends.
A funeral and celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Friends and family may call from noon to 2 p.m., with a service to be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
