Michael T. Harris, great father figure

Michael Thomas Harris, 65, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at home. He was born in Clarksville, May 21,1950,to the late Thomas and Louise Harris .

Michael went to school at Jason High School in Georgetown, were he left school to help take care of his family . Michael was a great father figure to each one of his siblings. Michael's hobbies back in the day were pitching horse shoes, which he was a master at doing, playing basketball and crabbing. He also loved to play cards.

He worked for Parmount Poultry In Harbeson catching chickens for years, and later he retired. In 1992 Michael gave his life to Jesus and joined the First Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church were he loved to serve as a deacon, and loved to help others. You could always depend on him with his amazing smile.

He was preceded in death his parents, Thomas King Harris and Louise Virginia Snead Harris, and Uncle Brady E. Harris. He survived by one daughter, Tina Davis of Millsboro; two grandchildren, Erica Davis and Justin Davis of Millsboro; three sisters, Jane Harris of Georgetown, Louise Harris (Henry) of Millsboro and Laverne Harris of Georgetown; three brothers, Andrew Harris (Constance) of Millsboro, Emory Harris of Millsboro and James Harris of Dover; aunt Evelyn Hall of Clarksville; uncle Joe Snead of Dover; and a host of cousins, neices, nephews and friends.

Celebrationof life service will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m., at First Seventh Day Adventist Church, 30007 Cordrey Road, Millsboro, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Letter of condolence may be sent and guest book signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
