William Wyatt Baker Jr., Jehovah's Witness

William Wyatt Baker Jr., 78, of Saulsville, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, W.Va.

He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Dagsboro, a son of the late William W. ,Sr. and Kathryn Mitchell Baker. William was a longtime minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. After spending their younger years in their home state of Delaware, they retired and moved to West Virginia,  where they lived for the last 26 years. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Connie Smith Baker; two sons David W. (Susie) Baker of Mayfield, Ky., and Mark L. Baker of Bridgeville; two sisters, Bonnie K. (Lynn) Bullock of Millsboro and Beth (Bryce) Collins of Millsboro; two sisters-in-law, Babs Smith Jessen of Georgetown and Susan Smith (Keith) Jones Lyman, Maine; a daughter of the heart, Peggy J. (David) Oren of Saulsville; a granddaughter of the heart, Michaela Oren of Saulsville; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday Jan. 31, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Welch, Wa.Va.V with Mr. David Oren officiating. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated.
