Meghan King promoted to general manager of Lupo Italian Kitchen

February 27, 2016

Scott Kammerer, president and CEO of SoDel Concepts in Rehoboth Beach, announced the promotion of Meghan King to general manager at Lupo Italian Kitchen in Rehoboth Beach, one of eight restaurants in the SoDel Concepts family.

“Meghan started working at Lupo when it opened in 2008, and she’s been part of the team ever since,” Kammerer said. “She is incredibly smart and capable. She also knows the meaning of quality customer service. Having her at the door, greeting guests, is great for business - she is warm and welcoming.”

A native of Lansdale, Pa., just outside of Philadelphia, King started working in restaurants at age 14. After high school, she moved to Lewes and earned an associate’s degree from Delaware Technical Community College and a bachelor’s degree in human services from the University of Delaware.

While still in college, she first interviewed at Lupo Italian Kitchen. SoDel Concepts founder Matt Haley walked in during her interview. He knew her from a job she’d held at a counter service restaurant in town and was impressed with her skills. “He said to the manager, ‘You need to hire her,’” King said. “I learned so much working at Lupo - how to care for guests, how to uphold higher standards and how to run a restaurant. I am honored to represent SoDel as a manager at Lupo.” King currently lives in Milton with her husband and two children.
