Bayhealth Hosts Leadership Central Delaware for Health & Human Services Day

January 20, 2026

Bayhealth recently welcomed the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce Leadership Central Delaware Class to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, for a full day focused on health and human services. The experience provided emerging and established community leaders with an inside look at Bayhealth’s people, services and mission, while offering opportunities to strengthen leadership skills through interactive learning and discussion.

The day began with a welcome and overview of Bayhealth by President & CEO Terry Murphy, FACHE, followed by sessions highlighting patient experience, well-being and the system’s commitment to community health. Participants engaged with Bayhealth leaders and team members through presentations, tours and hands-on activities designed to showcase how clinical care, support services and community partnerships come together to serve patients and families across central and southern Delaware.

Class members participated in a behind-the-scenes tour led by Vice President of Corporate Support Services Mike Metzing and took part in Simulation Center tours and CPR races, offering a firsthand view of clinical education and preparedness. The afternoon included a session on Branding Your Company & Yourself led by Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Community Outreach Amanda Bowie followed by a discussion on Community Engagement and Bayhealth with Carrie Hart, manager of Community Relations & Partnerships.

“Our goal was to help participants sharpen their leadership skills while also giving them a meaningful look at the people and services that bring Bayhealth’s mission to life,” said Bowie. “We enjoyed welcoming the Leadership Central Delaware Class behind the scenes and hope they left with a deeper understanding of how we work together to serve our community.”

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Bayhealth’s Festival of Trees during the lunch break, highlighting Bayhealth’s connection to the community during the holiday season.
