Dogfish Head Craft Brewery has graciously donated a deluxe gift basket and $50 gift card - a package worth more than $100 - to the Ninth Annual Salon Milton Fund Razor silent auction!  The basket is one of dozens of AWESOME silent auction items - including on-site catering by the new Po’ Boys Creole Food Truck, Queen for a Day package from Bad Hair Day salon in Rehoboth, a gift certificate for Eating Rehoboth food tour, dinner at Michy’s Relaxed Dining, Nicola Pizza and Mr. P's Pizza gift cards, a Surfing Crab gift certificate, a two-night master suite at the Great Victorian B&B in Milton, music lessons and much more.

Learn to play piano with two sets of lessons donated by Vincent Varrassi and Jane Berkowitz. These items join an exciting array of silent auction goodies you'll see Sunday, Feb. 14 at the Fund Razor, set for noon to 5 p.m. at Salon Milton, 517 Chestnut St.

The fundraiser will benefit the Milton Historical Society and the inaugural Gladys Wilkins Seeding the Future Scholarship Fund.

For a suggested donation of $25, Salon Milton will feature haircuts by professional stylists Tila Hooven, Roi Barnard, Robert McGowan and Richard Schulz.  Salon owner John Potocki is sidelined due to his recent hand surgery, but will offer a dozen gift cards for $30 each, good for haircuts on a future visit!

The salon will also showcase a bake sale, silent auction and refreshments. Last year the benefit raised more than $3,000.

Chef and caterer Pat Grieninger of Almost Home Catering will return this year to make her special creations for the Fund Razor.

The Milton Community Foundation and John Potocki of Salon Milton recently announced the Gladys Wilkins Seeding the Future Scholarship Fund. The award will be presented to a student in Sussex County who wishes to pursue a career in sustainable agriculture.

Applicants must be residents of Sussex County, Delaware, and must show proof they plan to pursue studies in agriculture at a college or university level. Applicants must also submit transcripts showing they've maintained a B average or higher in middle and high school levels.

To apply, submit a brief essay, 350-500 words, about why you believe you're the best candidate for the award, and why agriculture is important to you. Be sure to include your full name, address, telephone number and at least two references. Send your application to jbpotocki@aol.com.
