Coastal Delaware Running Festival Highlights This Weekend's Selection of Autumn Events

November 10, 2021

With Thanksgiving now just two weeks away (how the heck did that happen?), there will be many more holiday themed events and activities coming up in the days and weeks ahead.

Just a few days ago, we received word of a number of Christmas parades that are happening in local towns and cities during the first couple weeks of December. Stay tuned here to The Weekender, of course, for information on all of these upcoming events in November and December.

For this week, the main event is a three-day, running themed festival right here in Rehoboth Beach. Read below for much more on the Coastal Delaware Running Festival, as well as other happenings in Delaware, and three in eastern Pennsylvania, for the upcoming weekend.

In all, we're previewing nine events this week that you may want to check out. We hope you have a great upcoming weekend here in the region and a fantastic holiday season ahead.

Here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for the weekend of November 12-14 in the coastal region and beyond:

"Delaware's Coolest Marathon" is the highlight of this late autumn festival in the "Nation's Summer Capital of Rehoboth Beach, to be held this Friday through Sunday.

The Sunday race begins and ends on the scenic Boardwalk and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Highlights of the weekend include challenge runs, a 5K in Dewey Beach on Saturday, special gifts for all runners, free race photos and much more.

And don't forget the complimentary post race beer on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as the Sunday finish line party at Grotto Pizza with D.J. Rupe and plenty of great food.

Kick off for the marathon is Sunday morning, November 14, at 7 a.m.
