Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

September 13, 2022

We head into the second full week of Fall Festival Season this weekend with another huge slate of events and festivals throughout the region.

There's literally something for anyone and everyone over the next few days, regardless of where you live in the region and what you like to do.

We're going to kick things off with fantastic annual festivals in Milford, Georgetown, Rehoboth Beach, Ocean City and Laurel. But that's truly just the tip of the iceberg this weekend, with nearly 20 events for you to choose from.

Whatever you choose to do and whoever you choose to do it with, get out there and have a great time this weekend at and near the Delaware and Maryland beaches.

Now, on to our featured festivals for the weekend of September 16-18.

Riverwalk Freedom Festival (September 17)

Milford's largest outdoor festival returns this Saturday for a full day of family-friendly entertainment on the banks of the Mispillion River.

Scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m., with events running throughout the day, the festival is organized by the Greater Milford Area Chamber of Commerce and is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022.

Activities include a kids corner, food trucks, a beer garden, a pet parade and plenty of live music in Bicentennial Park.

And don't forget to stick around for Milford's largest fireworks spectacular, which will take place over the river after sunset.

Festival Hispano 2022 (September 18)

Scheduled for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the event is co-sponsored by First State Community Action and The Voice Radio Network and promises a full day of family fun in the seat of Sussex County.

Planned activities include live music, Hispanic dances, traditional arts and crafts and a whole lot of Latino cuisine.

Scheduled performers include Grupo Rana, Los Parientes De La Zona, Grupo La Calle, La Alianza and several others.

Delaware Coastal Cleanup (September 17)

Now that the summer season has come and gone, it's time to get outside and clean our beaches for the offseason.

Being held for the 35th time in 2022, the Delaware Coastal Cleanup focuses on 39 sites along the Delaware shoreline and depends largely on volunteers.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) will host the cleanup at sites throughout the state and asks volunteers to please pre-register for their preferred sites.

OC Bikefest (September 14-18)

Performers for 2022 include the Zac Brown Band, Disturbed, Travis Tritt, KIX, Jasmin Cain and others.

Events will be taking place at both the Ocean City Inlet and the Ocean City Convention Center on Coastal Highway.
