Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

February 8, 2023

Who's ready for Spring? Yeah, we are too!

But if Pennsylvania's favorite furry weatherman Punxsutawney Phil is to be believed, we have a few weeks to go before the warmer temperatures and the longer days are upon us.

There are several items on the events calendar over the next couple of weeks worthy of your consideration, however, including the annual Seaside Boat Show in Ocean City next weekend.

That's always a popular off-season event in Maryland's favorite coastal resort, so we're looking forward to that. But first, we have things to tell you about for the weekend of February 10-12 at and near the Delaware beaches.

If you haven't heard, the Philadelphia Eagles are playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday. While the game is out in Arizona, you can cheer on "The Birds" right here in Delaware this Saturday at a fun event scheduled for the Delaware Children's Museum.

Learn more about this and a handful of other events and activities via this week's "Weekender Blog," brought to you each week by the real estate professionals at the Oldfather Group of Compass RE.

Let's get right to it, shall we?

Sixth Annual Jewelry Trunk Show (February 10-11)

This popular pre-Valentine's Day event returns for the sixth time and is hosted by the good folks at the Rehoboth Art League.

Scheduled for the art league's campus on Dodds Lane, the show will kick off with an opening reception on Friday, February 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by the main event on Saturday, February 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a wide selection of artists on hand showing off their creations on both days of the event.

The show is free and open to the public. Learn more at rehobothartleague.org.

The Great Train Show at the Chase Center (February 11-12)

More than 200 tables at Wilmington's Chase Center will be filled with model trains this Saturday and Sunday as part of the 2023 Great Train Show.

More than 60 exhibitors will be taking part in this year's show, which includes model train displays, free workshops and demonstrations, a free test track to run your trains and quite a bit more.

Scheduled hours for the 2023 Great Train Show are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday.

Adult admission is $12 on Saturday and $11 on Sunday, with $1 off each day if purchasing online here. Children 11 and under are admitted for free.
