‘The Thanksgiving Visitor’ performance set Nov. 13

Professional actors Suzanne Savoy and Jack Herholdt will return to the Lewes Public Library for a reprise performance of Truman Capote’s “The Thanksgiving Visitor” at 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, at 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

The popular reading, presented by the Lewes Public Library Spoken Word Society, features a young boy named Buddy and his elderly cousin Miss Sook hosting a Thanksgiving gathering which holds an important lesson for Buddy. “The Thanksgiving Visitor” was first published in McCall’s Magazine in 1967, and is a companion piece to Capote’s “A Christmas Memory,” which will Savoy and Herholdt will also perform at the library Saturday, Dec. 17.

Savoy and Herholdt, both Delaware natives, are familiar presences on the stage in New York City, and in television, film and video. Savoy appeared regularly in Cinemax’s “The Knick” and in the popular television shows “Better Call Saul,” “House of Cards,” and “For Life.” She also tours nationally in her one-woman original show “Je Christine.” Herholdt was seen in the award-winning video series “Celebrity Ghost Stories” and the television series “It’s Quarantine with Vanessa Charbonne.”
