Amber Dawn Messick, devoted daughter, mother

Amber Dawn Messick, 36, of Seaford passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday, March 30, 2022.  

Amber was an avid animal lover and enjoyed helping with her friend's pets.  She had previously worked as a vet tech, and was currently the caregiver to her parents.  She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, and granddaughter.  

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ananias “Bill” Schrock; grandparents, Bill and Lorene Messick; and uncles, Gary Winter and Jeff Schrock.

Amber is survived by the joy of her world, her daughter, Avery Leigh Messick; her parents, Mark and Karen (Schrock) Messick; grandparents, Charlie and Dorothy Bush; grandmother, Virginia Schrock; aunt and uncles, Larry and Stephanie Schrock, Danny and Janet Messick, Debbie and Randy Wood, Mike and Tiz Messick, Billy and Brenda Messick, and Beverly Schrock; a very special friend, Michelle Hastings; her dog, Domino; and a number of cousins and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 8, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 1 p.m.  Interment will follow at Cokesbury Cemetery.
