Andrew John Bowalick Jr., pianist, arts lover
Andrew John Bowalick Jr., 71, of Milton, passed away at his home Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, from a very rare aggressive cancer.
Andrew was born in Kingston Pa., April 22, 1952, to the late Andrew Sr. and Emogene (Lee) Bowalick. Andrew is survived by two sons from a previous marriage. Andrew resided in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., E. Lansing, Mich., Lancaster, Pa., and Waldorf, Md.
Andrew graduated from Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School. Andrew received his bachelor’s degrees from Wilkes University and went on to receive his master’s degree from Michigan State, both in mathematics and physics. He worked as a mechanical engineer for RCA on picture color tubes, and later for Bulova (Hamilton Precision Metals), both in Lancaster, Pa., on timing devices for missiles. He most recently worked for Prince George’s County Public Schools as a mathematics teacher. He was an officer in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of both Lancaster, and Waldorf, Md. He was also a member of the Waldorf Moose Lodge. He and his wife moved to Delaware in 2017. They attended Goshen United Methodist Church in Milton together.
Andrew (Andy) was a lover of all the arts. He was an accomplished pianist, had an extreme interest in fine artwork, and all of the gardens he could get to see. He loved to cook and had extensive recipes he worked to prepare.
Andrew will be greatly missed by his wife, Claudia Bowalick; his stepchildren, Anne Finley, Laura Finley and Brian Finley; his sister, Julia Clelland; and other extended family members.
Services will be private.
