Annual Greyhounds Reach the Beach set for Oct. 5-9

The annual Greyhounds Reach the Beach is set to return to Rehoboth Beach the weekend of Wednesday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 9.

Greyhounds Reach the Beach is an annual charity event celebrating retired racing greyhounds, while creating awareness of the need for adoptive and foster homes. The event supports designated 501(c)(3) greyhound and sighthound adoption groups.

Started in 1995, Greyhounds Reach the Beach has been held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center since 2019; prior to that it was in Dewey Beach. 

The weekend will kick off with a preview event at 6 p.m., Oct. 5, for registered attendees and winds down with a parade on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk at 10 a.m., Oct. 9.

Greyhounds Reach the Beach also features a Beer & Biscuit Mixer at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at Aqua Grill on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach; and a Beach Bonfire and Blessing of the Hounds in Dewey Beach at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8.

The event will also have speakers, vendors, a silent auction, a raffle, walking tours, boat cruises, a pet first aid and CPR class, and more.
