Anthony Donnell Badger, enjoyed being outside
Anthony Donnell Badger of Ellendale passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. He was born June 28, 1958, in Lewes, son of the late Thomas Badger Sr. and Ida Cora (Heath) Badger.
After graduating from Cape Henlopen High in 1976, he went on to work for Allen Foods for over five years. Then, he became a construction worker for Schell Brothers for 19 years. He enjoyed planting cucumbers, tomatoes, collards, and kale, spending time outside, riding his 10-speed bicycle and antiques, and cutting the grass. Let’s not forget to mention his love for his favorite team, the Washington Commanders. He used to sit in front of the TV, eating a bunch of candy, and rooting and hollering for his team. He also loved to work out. He always had a bench press set at his house. In his last days, he had a special bond with one of his granddaughters, Tink; they spent a lot of time together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lonnie Badger. He is survived by two sisters, Myrna Sturgis of Georgetown and Jeanette Hall of Jimtown; three brothers, Thomas Badger III of New York, Eddie Badger of Salisbury, Md., and David Badger of Milford; five children, Sharee Dunlap of Portsmouth, Va., Anthony Griffin of Millsboro, Kiairra Gibbs of Seaford, Akeya Badger of Seaford, and Akeem Badger of Ellendale; along with seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
