Route 1 Rehoboth’s mile of style is losing one of its longstanding clothing stores – Eddie Bauer.
Located on northbound Route 1 behind Applebee’s, Eddie Bauer, an outdoor apparel brand, has been in the Tanger Outlets Seaside since at least the 1990s.
The pending closure of the local store is part of a bankruptcy filing that occurred Feb. 9 by the parent company, Eddie Bauer LLC. The Rehoboth store is the only one in Delaware and one of nearly 190 that are closing.
The store is expected to close in late April, but a specific date was unknown, said store staff Feb. 10.
