Archie Elizabeth Shipton, beloved mother, grandmother

Archie Elizabeth Kitchens Winters Shipton, 84, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.

Beth was born in Chillicothe, Texas, to Ernest and Eliza Kitchens, and was the youngest of eight daughters. She lived in Lewes with her daughter, Deborah Winters, who cared for her the last three years of her life as she struggled with Alzheimer's.

Beth is predeceased by her son, Stacy Lee Winters (Susan), who passed away from pancreatic cancer at 60. Beth is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Bowker (Carl) and Deborah (Daniel-deceased); grandchildren, Dustin and Shawn Talvacchia, Brandon Bowker, Marlena Kandell, and Eliza Winters; great-grandchildren Romero and Soriah Talvacchia; and many nieces and nephews, including a beloved niece Terry St. Germaine.

Beth enjoyed taekwondo and earned a black belt. She was also an avid reader. Beth worked in several different jobs while she raised three kids as a single mom.

She was a tough old bird, and she taught her kids that many things in life are scary, but you do them anyway.
