Workers were busy July 1 removing asbestos from the little Rehoboth Elementary before a planned July 11 demolition. Cape Director of Capital Projects Brian Bassett said a bus lane and multipurpose recreational area will occupy the space of the former school.
Asbestos removal for the original Rehoboth High School building is scheduled for September, with demolition to follow in October. That area will house basketball and pickle ball courts, and amenities such as a pavilion, an arch with the school’s original name and datestone, benches and outdoor classroom seating.
