Ash Wednesday services in the Cape Region

February 25, 2022
Ash Wednesday service at Holy Anglican March 2

Holy Spirit Anglican Church announced the imposition of ashes will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 2. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Lent originated as and continues to be a preparation for Easter. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes and placing them on the foreheads of participants while the following words are pronounced: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Ecclesiastes 3:20) Safe social distancing is practiced and there is plenty of room for all. Holy Spirit Anglican Church is at 28842 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes. To learn more, go to holyspiritanglican-de.org.
