Issac Barnes

Sussex Central’s senior quarterback threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the Golden Knights’ come-from-behind victory over Dover 21-20 in the DIAA semifinals Nov. 23. Barnes led the Golden Knights in two second-half scoring drives. He scored on a quarterback sneak on the final play of the third quarter to cut the lead to 20-15. Then he piloted the winning 13-play, 68-yard drive, culminating in a 13-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds remaining. The drive included a crucial fourth-down conversion on a quarterback sneak. Barnes was a second-team all-conference selection at quarterback, with 17 touchdowns and 1,206 yards passing on the season. Barnes has also played outside linebacker for the Golden Knights, finishing with seven tackles in the win over Dover.

Isaiah Barnes

Senior safety for the Sussex Central football team, Isaiah has led the Golden Knights defense all season. He finished the semifinal game versus Dover with 10 tackles. Isaiah has led the best defense in the state, which has allowed 5.7 points per game with seven shutouts. He personally amassed 110 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, one sack and six interceptions. Barnes was the Golden Knights’ primary punt returner this season, averaging 24.0 yards per return with one touchdown. He also led Central with 19 receptions for 239 yards and one touchdown.

Domonique Smith

This junior tight end for the Sussex Central football team caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the Golden Knights’ thrilling 21-20 come-from-behind win over Dover last Friday night, Nov. 23, in the semifinals of the Division I state football tournament. The catch was one of three for Smith on the evening, totaling 32 yards. Smith, a first-team all-conference selection at tight end, has accumulated a team-high 254 yards receiving along with six receiving touchdowns on the season. Smith also contributed on defense for most of the season at the cornerback position.

Shihiem Williams

A junior halfback for the Sussex Central football team, Shihiem led the Golden Knights’ rushing attack with 68 of the team's 197 yards on the ground in the Nov. 23 win over Dover. Williams also had a critical 19-yard reception during the second-half comeback and contributed three tackles on defense and special teams. For the season, Williams, an honorable mention selection on offense, has amassed 559 yards rushing, 229 yards receiving, eight touchdowns and has returned kickoffs.
