Atlantic Fields should be built somewhere else

December 23, 2025

I have been following the debate concerning the proposed Atlantic Fields development and it strikes me that there are some obvious conclusions.

First, the area does want to have the proposed stores available for shopping.

Second, the stores would draw customers from all over the middle and southern Delmarva Peninsula.

Third, the proposed location cannot handle the traffic volume.

Therefore, the rather obvious solution is that the development should be located along an existing major highway network; for example, Route 113 in the Georgetown-to-Millsboro corridor. Such a location would provide for the whole area to have reasonable access to the desired shopping and be the most convenient location for the majority.
