Attack Addiction held its second annual Sober Fest Sept. 13 at Hudson Fields near Milton, drawing a crowd of about 300 throughout the day.

The event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offered a safe and sober atmosphere for people recovering from drug or alcohol addiction. Many folks were also joined by their friends and family.

“Attack Addiction was absolutely thrilled with the turnout at Sober Fest,” said the organization’s Amy Rust. “Seeing so many people come together in support of recovery and sober living was both powerful and inspiring. It was a true reminder that we are stronger together.”

More than 30 organizations and vendors had booths at the event, providing resources directly to those in recovery and their loved ones.

Attendees danced along to performances by two local bands, The Leftovers and Girls Room. There were also bounce houses for kids, arts and crafts, and a cornhole tournament sponsored by the Oxford Houses of Delaware.

Attack Addiction, founded in 2013 in New Castle County, is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of addiction, providing relevant information and resources to individuals and families, and supporting people living in recovery.

Through Sober Fest, Attack Addiction aims to destigmatize conversations about addiction and offer a supportive community to those in recovery and their loved ones.
