Attorney General Jennings to speak at town hall
The Sussex County Democratic Committee will host Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings at a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, in Georgetown.
All registered Democrats are welcome to attend.
Those planning to attend should RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 24, via email to hsginde@gmail.com to confirm their party status and receive the event location.
Jennings, who has joined 22 other attorneys general to oppose actions by the Trump administration, will focus on her efforts to protect the rights and liberties of citizens in Delaware and across the U.S. The state’s top prosecutor has already helped win injunctions against executive orders to dismantle federal agencies, end birthright citizenship, restrict medical dollars and freeze federal funding for a number of programs in Delaware.
Jennings is also working to restore the $10 billion a year in federal money previously allocated to the state—money that, in her words, “really affects the everyday lives of Delawareans.” Now completing her second term in office, she recently announced her re-election campaign for a third term in 2026.
The town hall meeting format will allow ample time for questions and discussion. In addition, the SCDC will hold a special meeting prior to the forum at 5:30 p.m. to discuss and vote on proposed revisions to the bylaws governing the county committee.
