The Lewes Yacht Club has held a July 4 Delaware Breakwater Race for as long as anyone can remember.
This year, in spite of nearly no wind on Delaware Bay at the start of the race, conditions improved for the sailors competing in several divisions.
Overall, Richard Beebe and the crew of Balance took top honors, followed by Hattie Warwick-Smith and the crew of Iris, and Heath Gehrke and the crew of Delilah.
In the Sunfish division, David Miller was first, followed by Jacob Bolno, Connie Miller, Gift White Gaston, and Scott and Sav Gaston. In the Mobjacks, the team of Sarah Lester and Tony Ingram finished first, followed by the father-daughter team of Paynter and Erin Ingram.
Andy MacDonald was the first Hobie finisher.
