Bayhealth employee Alex Paradise known as mindful motivator
As the Bayhealth Sussex Emergency Department Patient Access Supervisor, Alex Paradise goes to great lengths to make sure each patient’s experience is full of high-quality care. He and his team are the first point of contact for a patient coming into the hospital.
“I get to witness firsthand the expert care that we deliver to patients,” said Paradise. “I really take pride in reassuring patients and their families during what can be a very stressful time.”
As a supervisor, Paradise is always willing to go above and beyond for his team. He knows that if he’s leading a department that’s working well together and running smoothly, it ultimately provides better patient outcomes. Paradise offers his time to the team as an extra set of hands, to answer questions or provide advice whenever it may be needed.
“We all have one common goal - that is to provide the best medical care to our patients,” he said.
With a drive for excellence, balancing work and home life can be challenging. Paradise always makes himself available to his staff since the his is a 24-hour department.
Fortunately, he has an incredible support system at home with his wife, Kelsey and their two sons. When Paradise is home with them, he is present and attentive. They love being outside and taking walks together as a family. Music is also a big part of how he said he unwinds and resets.
The Bayhealth team is grateful to Paradise for his dedication to positive and motivating leadership in the emergency department. He shows up day after day with a figure-it-out mentality and influences the community in the best way possible.
