Beau Biden Foundation hosts golf outing

May 17, 2018

The Beau Biden Foundation will hold a golf outing and cocktail hour Monday, May 14, at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club to bring Sussex County residents together for a good time while raising money to prevent child abuse.

“We've done a ton of work down there, and this is the first big public event we've planned for Sussex County,” said Joshua Alcorn, spokesman for the Beau Biden Foundation.

Alcorn said spots are still open for the foundation's golf invitational which begins at 10 a.m. for registration followed by a 10:30 a.m. brunch. Play is scheduled to begin at noon.

The cost to play is $2,000 for a foursome and $500 for a single golfer. A cocktail reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. for $150 per person.

Money raised will go toward programs to protect children from abuse and neglect – a cause Biden made his mission as Delaware's attorney general.

Alcorn said already the foundation has provided child abuse prevention training for teachers in the Indian River and Cape Henlopen school districts, and organizers hope to expand the program to all Sussex County districts.
